The proactive green initiatives from Rawlinsons were recognised at the recent Investors in the Environment (iiE) awards ceremony where we were awarded the ‘Overall Outstanding Achiever – Small Business’ award.
Rawlinsons were delighted to receive the accolade which proved we over performed against the green accreditation criteria by being a green leader and showcasing environmental excellence. Our achievements included reducing electricity by 30%, reducing landfill waste by 80%, having proactive internal green champions (including our very own Green Fairy!) and introducing branded Jute bags for our staff and clients to use and reuse.
As Overall Outstanding winner Rawlinsons were also awarded a Green Apple award from The Green Organisation which is dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
Kim Coley from the iiE said about Rawlinsons: “We are proud of all our members, but every year we love raising the bar on environmental best practice and excellence. When we meet businesses like Rawlinsons that are so environmentally enthusiastic and proactive, we not only see them as real green leaders, we also want to share this best practice with others to continue creating smarter and more sustainable businesses everywhere.”
Tracey Richardson, Rawlinsons Partner said: “We are thrilled to receive the recognition for our green efforts. All businesses have their part to play in today’s society to ensure that we create a sustainable and healthy environment for today and for the future.”
Rawlinsons will continue to dedicate time to developing action plans to help reduce our carbon footprint even further and are grateful for the support and advice received from the Peterborough Environment City Trust who run the Investors in Environment scheme.
